How Megaworld and Accor Plan to Make Philippines a Global Destination with World’s Largest Mövenpick

In a strategic move to position the Philippines as a global hospitality powerhouse, Megaworld Corp. has partnered with French hotel giant Accor. Consequently, this landmark deal will see the creation of the world’s largest Mövenpick hotel in Manila.

From Grand Westside to a Global Landmark

Specifically, Megaworld’s hospitality arm, Megaworld Hotels & Resorts, has signed an agreement to convert the 1,530-room Grand Westside Hotel into the Mövenpick Manila Bay Westside. This comprehensive rebranding involves complete brand alignment, systems integration, and operational enhancements. As a result, the group is targeting to officially open the property before the end of 2026.

A “Powerful Testament” to Philippine Tourism

According to Cleofe Albiso, Managing Director at Megaworld Hotels & Resorts, this project is central to their international strategy.
“The opening of the world’s largest Mövenpick is a powerful testament to our group’s efforts to scale our world-class offerings and meet the demands of the broader international market,” Albiso stated. “Furthermore, this partnership reflects our shared belief that the Philippines is ready to stand as a distinct global destination.”

Prime Location and Integrated Amenities

The future Mövenpick Manila Bay Westside is a 19-story, two-tower development located within Megaworld’s 31-hectare Westside City township in Parañaque. To enhance guest convenience, the hotel will feature a dedicated skybridge connecting it directly to a premier casino and entertainment complex. Additionally, it will be linked to the country’s first Grand Opera House, offering a truly integrated entertainment and lifestyle experience.
